Airports
- Hilo (ITO) — closest, roughly 45–60 minutes by car.
- Kona (KOA) — on the far side of the island, about 2.5–3 hours; more flight options.
Driving in
From Pahoa, take Highway 130 toward Kalapana.
- On your left you'll pass the Star of the Sea Church — a landmark to watch for.
- On your right you'll see Big Island Processing — turn right here and follow the road up the hill.
- You'll see a big cat statue and a sign for Sundari.
- Turn into the next driveway after the cat.
When you arrive, text your guide or come directly to the spa to check in.
Note: rural addresses can confuse GPS — use these landmarks rather than the map pin.
Good to know
- Roads are slow and rural — give yourself extra time, especially after dark.
- It's the jungle: bring closed shoes, a rain layer, and bug-aware clothing.
- Cell service can be patchy; download your directions before you arrive.
